Priority Action Plan 16: Wind Plant Communications
PAP 16 is dedicated to the revision of IEC Standard 61400-25 in order to make it appropriate for the wind power plants in the United States to use for reporting their operation to the ISOs and balancing authorities. Presently, each authority has its own reporting system and the mechanics are different for all. The PAP looked at those different systems and developed a list of the requirements that they created.
PAP 16 has delivered the requirements necessary for implementing the items needed by various ISOs in the US. The IEC has established a Maintenance Team for this standard and is developing a joint working group between TC88 and TC 57 to further the work. This meeting will hear from those involved in the IEC work and discover what else needs to be done to accelerate the process.

The International Task Force of the SGIP Governing Board (GB-ITF) was established to promote SGIP activities with our peer organizations and government agencies in other countries. Following the first meeting at Gridweek in September 2011, the ITF has been working on developing a business plan and setting targets for its activities in 2012. As part of the SGIP face-to-face meeting the ITF will focus on:
• The creation of international coordination teams
• A discussion of the marketing section of the business plan
• Prioritization of next actions for the task force; countries, activities, seminars/trade shows, etc.
• Review of the LOI template for international activities
• Documentation of NIST’s international priorities

Priority Action Plan 18: SEP 1.x to SEP 2 Transition and Coexistence
PAP 18 was formed this year as an expedited action plan in order to address transition and coexistence needs from Smart Energy Profile 1.x (SEP) to SEP 2.0 and to provide recommendations back to the ZigBee and HomePlug Alliances. PAP 18 has produced a Guidelines and Best Practices document, and spurned cybersecurity mitigation work by EPRI and NESCOR. Attend to hear a summary of our work and participate in a discussion about practical next steps and implications.
