CMEWG

The focus for the Communication, Marketing, and Education (CME) Working Group session will be on the future of SGIP communication services. The group’s Charter is to promote awareness, understanding and value of SGIP and SGIPGB activities and knowledge base to the smart grid stakeholder community by disseminating information and announcements {in accordance with established operating procedures} related to decisions and actions of the SGIP and SGIPGB. Everyone is invited to attend.

Our main points of discussion will include:
• How to proceed with the execution of CMEWG NTO plan
• Membership Communication survey
• Coordination with other SGIP groups working on CME
• Progress on on-going CMEWG efforts and related SGIP CME literature
• Other Topics international outreach, online communications, next meeting, etc.)

EMIIWG

The plan for this Electromagnetic Interoperability Issues (EMII) Working Group meeting is to review the latest draft of the EMC report and identify additional information that may be needed. The report, at this stage, is a review of potential EMC issues and the existing state of EMC of the power grid and associated systems. The next step is to develop conclusions and recommendations to submit to the SGIP. We will continue discussions on how best to address these remaining activities identified in the Working Group charter.

B2G/I2G DEWG

The joint B2G/I2G session will; 1) review the progress of current activities, 2) review the B2G/I2G related standards identified by NIST in the framework document, 3) review the current roadmap and 4) prioritize areas of focus for 2012. This workshop will provide an opportunity to participate in helping define:

1. The long term goals and objectives for the B2G and I2G DEWGS.

2. The challenges or gaps to reach them.

3. The major steps that can be taken to address the challenges and achieve the objectives and

4. The areas that should be addressed in 2012.

DRGS DEWG

The Distributed Renewables, Generators and Storage Domain Expert Working Group (DRGS DEWG) provides a forum within SGIP to identify and define standards and interoperability issues and gaps related to Smart Grid integration of distributed renewable/clean energy generators and electric storage and to initiate priority action plans and task groups to address these issues and gaps. Significant technical challenges exist in this area and resolution of these issues and gaps is essential to enable high penetrations of distributed renewable/clean generator and storage devices while also enhancing rather than degrading grid stability, resiliency, power quality, and safety.
